於C 形瓷件骨架上，缠绕铜镍合金或镍铬合金之电阻线，除滑动接触表面外，均以耐高温之不燃性树脂涂装补覆，待阴乾後由高温处理固定绝缘，并配装中心转动调整之零件，由转轴带动碳刷於电阻线上滑动变化，而获得需求适当之阻值。适用於教学测试，模拟负载，产业机械转速调节，电压电流调节，仪器设备，自动控制装置...等。
